Based in Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter, Bakerie is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. Run by Dale Meakin, Alyson Doocey and David Cook, the concept is a unique one for Manchester in that it allows customers the opportuntity to try a range of wines before buying them. Customers can either sit in the store / tasting area with a glass, or sample a number of wines at their leisure and then buy a bottle to take home.
Bakerie also has a huge bread oven, where customers can experience fresh bread and also take part in bread making classes. This area also provides the bread for the neighbouring Bakerie restaurant.
The site runs a number of tasting sessions a week, with the key idea to break down the complexities of wine, and have something for everyone, from the enthusiastic amateur, to the knowledgeable wine buff who simply wants to try something new.
Bakerie has already been well received by the locals in Manchester, and has been nominated for a number of awards since it opened at the beginning of 2012.
